Interim Reporting And Equipment Handing Over Ceremony Under The University Upgrading Project

In the morning of Jan 30, 2015, at the Round Hall, Korea Vietnam Friendship Information College (KVFITC) directly under the Ministry of Information and Communications, together with Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), solemnly celebrated the mid-term reporting and equipment handing over ceremony under the university upgrading project.

KVFITC was honoured to have the presentations of Mr. Chang Jae Yun – Head of KOICA in Vietnam, Mr. Kim Min Young – Deputy Head of KOICA in Vietnam, leaders of Soongsil University, Korea; leaders of Deabo Corporation, Korea and other leaders from Korean enterprises. KVFITC also has the honour to welcome Mr. Tran Duc Lai – Vice Minister of Information and Communications, leaders of departments under the Ministry of Information and Communications in Danang City and leaders of Danang regional governments. At KVFITC’s side, all leaders, lecturers and the office staff participated the ceremony.

KVFITC was assigned to be the investor of the university upgrading project by the Ministry of Information and Communications in Nov, 2013, with the total ODA capital from the Korean Government of 6.2 million USD and the Vietnam’s reciprocal capital of over 70 billion VND. The project focuses on synchronously upgrading the training quality to the regional level, promoting domestic and foreign job opportunities.

At the ceremony, after the opening speech by Mr. Chang Jae Yun - Head of KOICA in Vietnam, Mr. Hoang Bao Hung, KVFITC’s principal, as representative of the investor, reported the project developing process and rate of progress. The report evaluated the results of improving the training quality; developing 50 teaching materials; building 16 curricula; building the management information system and learner’s data system; founding the Faculty of Korean Language to promote the labour export; training and improving the academic and managerial level; establishing the teaching staff and office staff assessment system; providing equipment and comforts for installing 19 laboratories and practical rooms; building student’s dormitory.

Mr. Chang Jin Hyun, Project Manager of Daebo Corporation (Korea) – the equipment supplier for 19 laboratories and practical rooms - stated that all of the equipment and machines were world standard models, valued at 3.1 million USD.

Highly appreciating the effort of both Vietnamese and Korean sides in order to  complete project items, Mr. Tran Duc Lai, Vice Minister of Information and Communications, gave his congratulations to the participants and his sincere gratitude to the support and cooperation in friendship and union of KOICA as well as Korean partners. He requested all leaders, teaching and office staff of KVFITC to effectively use the donated equipment in teaching and research activities. He also wished KOICA and Soongsil University to keep on supporting KVFITC in completing its training program under the Korean advanced IT training system and in training doctors, improving the managerial and technical staff under Soongsil University’s model.

Mr. Hoang Bao Hung pledged to use 19 donated laboratories and practical rooms in teaching activities with the right purpose in an effective and optimal way.

The ceremony closed with the inauguration band cutting. The delegates then visited 19 laboratories and practical rooms to have an overall checking.
